Bru Moytura is a 100 foot wide wooden retreat centre in the foothills of rural Sligo. The 'brugh' stems from the Irish notion of a hosting place. We host groups, retreats, wee weddings & workshops. As a Not-for-Profit our hostings help the continuation into the future of our Irish Annals project whose Scriptorium is on site.  The Annals seeks to be a catch all for the future, so our descendants can understand all opinions & actions that begat them.

The space is  available for hire for retreats, quiet private events, intimate weddings/ naming ceremonies as well as think-tank team building workshops. It sleeps 25+ / sit down 70+/ buffet 120+.   The Bru is an auspicious place to hold your event.  We have special discounts for charities + other not-for-profits doing good things for the betterment of the overall; so don't be marginalised.

From Spring 2024 we will host groups to learn more about the Annals history + our ongoing Annal includes ink & paper making & calligraphy weekends.

The great circular hall is perfect for think-ins, socials, intimate weddings . Our unique geothermal underfloor heating system means that the yoga-mats will never be cold! The circular shape of the main hall allows large groups to still have a good view of the instructor. With double rooms, dorms and the interior pods, retreats can hold up to 28 guests. Self catered and fully catered options available. A beautiful sunlit front room to the south west is the dining zone. We have been holding yoga and wellness related retreats for 20 years.

Over the years BM has hosted every type of group looking to spend some time together, get outdoors, solve a problem, learn a new skill or simply just relax and unwind. Work and play all day and dine together in the evening sit back and relax around our cosy central fire pit. We boast too a supremely eclectic library. 

The central circle is transformed into the perfect venue for a boutique micro wedding. Talk to us to find out about different packages in terms of how best to use the venue, decor, numbers of guests and food and we’ll find the perfect fit for your special day. Bringing in foliage and flowers from the garden and bathed in candlelight, this is the venue for couples looking for something unique.
